Injectors

Hi I have a s2 on cosworth management want to be running around 300-350bhp what colour injectors will I need will dark greens be overkill ?

RUBY123 27-02-2015 10:11 AM

What engine

jay030787 27-02-2015 11:35 AM

Still using cvh around 1640cc

RUBY123 27-02-2015 12:12 PM

Probably will need to go greys if sticking with that sort of injector

jay030787 27-02-2015 12:27 PM

I have got dark greens in and it won't run right till its got 10 bar of pressure so think I need to try some smaller ones

RUBY123 27-02-2015 12:33 PM

No that will be something else a shit map or another fault green injectors on a cvh wont flow enough fuel for the power you want. What chips in it now

jay030787 27-02-2015 03:56 PM

It's got a 340 chip in it to run 3 bar map sensor and green injectors but the car starts and runs fine for 4-7 seconds then cuts out its running lean when I turn pressure flat out runs mint but the pump is straining like mad as there only good for 10 bar :( it should run fine at 3-4 bar I have checked throttle position sensor map sensor and all the others

RUBY123 27-02-2015 04:06 PM

so its got a cozzy chip in it

As RUBY123 has said, it sounds like your running a Cosworth chip in a CVH if that's an MSD 340bhp chip you're talking about??

jay030787 27-02-2015 05:21 PM

Yes that's right am using a cosworth chip on cvh I was told it would be fine is that right

Roscopeco 27-02-2015 05:35 PM

I would have thought you'd of wanted a chip written to your spec not a Cosworth

jay030787 27-02-2015 05:39 PM

I am having that done but I want to get the car at least running before I take it next week the more I do the less I have to pay them to do silly jobs will it not even tickover and run with cosworth chip ?

RUBY123 27-02-2015 07:18 PM

it wont run on that chip you need one for cvh thats your problem

jay030787 27-02-2015 07:20 PM

Ok so it will not run at all I was told by a lad that's what he used in his and it was fine lol so what do I need for it ?

studabear 27-02-2015 07:22 PM

A chip wrote for a cvh on the injectors your using, if you have a tuner in mind for tuning it they might be able to help

RUBY123 27-02-2015 07:27 PM

yes you need a base chip off someone maybe jano but then you will need a board aswell

jay030787 27-02-2015 07:31 PM

Ok I have all that in May other Ecu I will solder it all across and see what it does but surly with the cosworth chip with a map to run 803 and 3 bar map and everything it shouldn't run and cut out because its lean it should be Rich if anything shouldn't it ?

RUBY123 27-02-2015 08:01 PM

completely different engine the fuel and ignition table will all be wrong for your engine the fact it uses the same injectors and map sensor make little difference

jay030787 27-02-2015 09:53 PM

Ok that's great thanks I will get the board soldered over and see how it runs then :)

RUBY123 27-02-2015 10:32 PM

what soldering there plug in

Roscopeco 27-02-2015 10:51 PM

What ecu are you using ? Any pics of inside it ? Have you had the car running ok before or just finished the conversion ?

I wouldn't start soldering bits into an ecu before I knew what's what

jay030787 28-02-2015 06:08 AM

Well before it was just a cosworth push in chip but I have a dead Ecu that Jano had put a chip and board in so I have to solder the 3 wire plug over that goes to the chip on the board. And it's a level 6 Ecu

That's what I had in

jay030787 28-02-2015 06:57 AM

And that's the one am thinking I need to put in ?

RUBY123 28-02-2015 08:46 AM

What does the black plug with the e wires in it go to doesn't that board just plug in to where the old chip went

Versus_Creations 28-02-2015 09:05 AM

As said the cos chip you have plugged in will not control your engine.

You need a custom chip setup for your spec.

Greens will struggle getting more than 260bhp on a cvh in genral.

jay030787 28-02-2015 10:33 AM

I have swopped it all over this morning and it doesn't even run with that in but runs when the map sensor is unplugged is that because there is no map on the chip

RUBY123 28-02-2015 10:46 AM

There is definitely something not right with your setup you need to contact a tuner and get the whole setup from one place mix and match bits arnt going to work

jay030787 28-02-2015 10:50 AM

Ok well it's in on the 14th so will see what they say

RUBY123 28-02-2015 10:52 AM

Where are you taking it

jay030787 28-02-2015 11:14 AM

Kp Motorsport

RUBY123 28-02-2015 12:23 PM

As long as they have the right equipment for webber you should be ok most places dont

Versus_Creations 01-03-2015 11:49 AM

How will they connect to the ecu and adjust the map. Do they have an emulator or pectel software.

jay030787 01-03-2015 11:52 AM

Don't they just remove and read the chip then reflash and try it ?

Versus_Creations 01-03-2015 12:05 PM

I havent heard of them but does not mean to say they cant do it. However you would be better off taking the car to someone who has experiance with weber on a cvh or any other engine for that matter.

For an 'off the shelf' map, the chip has to be replaced, or the existing one erased via UV light and then 're-burnt'. There is no such thing as 'flashing' with these ECU's.

For a live map, then you need an emulator.

However, you will need someone who has written the software for your spec (which will be a niche area I suspect)
