gearbox finally let go
after driving with a noisy fifth gear for a month it finally exploded yesterday in spectacular fashion cracked gearcasing the lot. I already have a gearbox and im just swapping it for another till I can get a stronger one built up. any tips when it comes to swapping a gearbox?

Best advice in fitting an RST box is mark the gear linkage BEFORE you take it off.
Save you a lot of time messing around trying to adjust it after.
Have you got the SCS/ABS bullshit on there still?
I used to take the complete front anti-roll bar off with the TCAs.

ive removed roll bar and tca's, def easier. ive removed linkage already, oops. theres no abs crap either. its no concourse stunner, just a sleeper in a bonus shell.aside from clutch cable and speed cable the box is ready to unbolt. cany you get away without removing the metering head?

Never removed metering head when I used to do mine (regularly)
Did mine on 2 post ramps though.
Oh, remember to remove the amal valve (if it's bolted to the 'box as it should be) before you drop it out.
Thinking about it, if you're fitting a different box marking the linkage won't matter.
