no spark mfi rs turbo
im moving house today and went to move the escort, it fired up, stalled and now it wont spark. ive replaced plugs/dizzy cap/rotor arm and im non the wiser. if the fuel pump relay was faulty, would it cause a no spark? i always thought they just stop the fuel getting through. it still primes though? would it be worth trying a fuel ecu (black one) and main ecu? the coil is a group a from matt lewis so i doubt thats the cause but ill give it a try.

Can you hear the Amal valve click when you turn ignition on?
I had an ignition relay burn out the other week, there are two (the yellow ones in fuse box). The one i had to change was for indicators, lights etc (and cooling fan apparently!) the other relay does the ignition power for the ecu i believe. You can swap the two yellow ones over easily and if you car starts but indicators dont work you know thats at fault.
They're 40amp standard relays, but most places dont have them in stock due to being 40amp. Halfords etc have them boxed as 40amp but they're actually 30amp relays as printed on the relay itself, they couldnt tell me why, and looked confused.

Good job I checked tbh, I was making sure pins were correct and spotted the 30A marking on the relay, then noticed all the others were the same. Said 40A on the box and shelf.
Two members of staff were clueless as to why, or what they could do about it. And thanked me for pointing it out lol.
Unfortunately at half 3 on a Sunday there was little other choice, until I remembered I'd fitted some relays behind console panel and one wasn't being used yet as I hadn't fitted switch for it. Used that as a temp fix.
Note: 30A relay does the job, but gets a little warm, thought not as warm as the yellow one which almost melted itself into the fuse box
