Default fault code 59 after efi con

hi all,

i am struggling with this problem for some time now. i had converted to efi as rs bible and other sources says. i use ofac and xr3i loom.
after moving pin 8 to 27 i get fault code 59 (CO potentiometer out of range). potentiometer is good. when i swap it back this code dismiss.

is it really necessary to move those pins?

other problem is, when engine is cold it smokes a lot (rich) after feww seconds it's ok. can it be all related?

I'm about to convert mine, after all the reading I've done, I was under the impression that using the xr3i loom and ofac ecu that swapping pins was not necessary?

That's the set-up I'm going for too.

Is that Ford EEC management?

It sounds for whatever reason the CO setting is not working, maybe the wiring you mention, yes it will cause the rich mixture you are experiencing, but more worryingly "Borewash"

Well of the CO potentiometer circuit is ok, I suggest it needs setting up.
