Chalkey was looking for advise on turbo selection for a 200 to 230 hp 1600 cvh. He already had an issue with a laggy turbo and wanted the Forum's advise on what turbo to get.

Sure there are many turbo combinations for big power build or larger 2100cc engines - but he was asking for suggestions for his build.

Again, I certainly don't want to be an Asshole.

Cheers - Beach and ZVH - no need to get pissed.

Why not just use a saab 9000? You just have to turn the housing. Even the elbow fits

you find as gus is using a t34 with a roller bearing !!!it wont be laggy at all !! 360 thrust is laggy but the roller bearing centre core mine is on boost at 2500rpm !! but its not a t34 im running its a t3/04e with roller bearing centre core no lag at all infact prob performs better than most of the gt series iff u ask vincent at cr turbos they have tested them back to back so my t3/04e is in on my 2.1 as soon as a standard t3 on a 1.6 !!! but makes full boost much quicker and doesnt have the nylon casing round the bearings that the gt series has the t series converted roller bearings are stronger than a gt series !! ask cr turbos who build them so i dont no what all the raving on is about gt series turbos personally !! the problem is u all seem to confuse the the normall t34 with a laggy awfull 360deg thrust with a roller bearing centre core theres no comparison

Sorry for pushing this old one up...

The original turbo on my S1 is broken. So i searched on the Internet, which one would be the best replacement.
I have done a rebuild on the engine with all the good stuff. (forged bottom end, ARP bolts, Cometic gasket, Stage 3 head, Kent Cam, larger intercooler, MSD chip, oil cooler)

I think, about 200hp should be possible.

Whats your opinion about this turbo? Will it work?
https://www.turbozentrum.de/BorgWarn...53-53-313296_1

The A/R is slightly smaller than a T3 stage which had 0.48 but bigger than stage2 with 0.42, so i would name it "a stage 2,75" or "stage 2 3/4"...

I would need a plate from T3 to T25 or would have to build a manifold with T25 flange.

But what do you think about the turbine and compressor wheel sizes?

Thank you!

To expencive. You can get similar decent company ~300hp turbo for half of a price. Oil/Water cooled T25.
Kompressor: inducer 46,5 mm
Turbin: exducer 47 mm, A/R 0,49
I plan to use one for my quick EFI flip for my 1.8ZVH sale/Summer beater project RS Turbo.
