bonnet won't open!!
 

finally got all the little issues sorted with the car today :shocked:


just thought i'd give the engine a quick once over before dark, and i can't open the bonnet!!! :cry2:


there is a lot of slack up against the bonnet release, now i don't think it's snapped i reckon it might of just come off the latch. but how the hell do i open the bonnet now :( :smile:

raise the car up at the front and lie on your back, feeling up between the rad and exhaust you'll reach the top of the slam panel and feel the catch, with a bit of a push to the right it'll let the pin go and open

As said you can get your hand up there and open it it can be done!

just make sure the engines cold, as you'll loose the skin of your knuckles when it touches the hot down pipe lol.

yea going to leave it untill the morning i think! lol

if the cable has come away from the catch a cheap fix is to thread it into a scotch bloc to pull the lever over until you can find another cable

Replace it, as this is the time your bonnet will come up when driving

or fit aero catches

put a safety catch on theres loads of threads on this save you bonnet and scuttle. Use a long screw driver to open the catch i jacked my car up

lol yeah don't try this after breaking down mid run
still got burn marks haha
