I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
My RWD mk4 escort is a track/drift toy and so the heavy ass sunroof and metalwork had to go! We (my dad and I) gota spares xr3i, cut the rear of the roof out so the shape is the same, trimmed the spare roof panel 15mm bigger than the sunroof hole all the way round and bonded it in place with panel bond. Then sprayed the car and chequed the roof to help disguise it.
Inside the car the roof is sprayed matt black and is pretty well disguised.

Hi mate sorry to hear about this as your car looks well nice now its been painted I'm tryin to find a solution to this as my sunoof tray is fubard and I need to sort something. I'm considering a new sunroof like the webasto ones as there meant to be a piece of piss to fit maybe a possibility for you? All the best either way hope u sort it.

The ones I looked at were only slightly bigger. How has it sunk have you put a new sunroof cassette in it and warped it just curious as I'm thinkin of putting a new 1 on mine if I can find 1.

Get the sunroof aligned nicely at the front (high end) and then take the glass panel out and bend it to match the back (lower end) of the roof, i know, i know glass doesn't bend but i've had to do this on a few mk4s using mk6 escort sunroofs (they fit and are rot free) they are slightly a diff shape so we gently bend em until they fit... It works, bend the frame and it flexes the glass into place. Give it a go, gently!
