Default series 2 set up

hi, finally got my escort bk on the road after along wait, runs ok but would benifit from a proper set up adjust fuel meter unit etc etc live in stafford can any1 recommend someone locally that might be able help and typical cost any help would be great

My set up at jamsport was £140 i dont know what other people charge though

nms £170 pus VAT and jano oddkiddcreations £50 but jano you gunna spend £60 fuel getting upto him and back then pay him £50 setup but he is spos to be really gd im gunna take my car up to him cuz iv just bought a metering unit from him.

try gt motorsport in burslem m8 mark is very good he does a lot of work for collins in congleton hope this helps

thanks for the response all helpful

didnt want to travel too far till it was set up properly but also just noticed may have a problem with the fuel metering unit so need to sort a replacement first the joys lol

whats the issue with the metering unit. U might not need to replace it.

problem is its a nightmare to start from cold turns over for ages and with throttle will finally start, if you then turn it off and try it again it will fire up staright away and start ok every time until you leave it for a few hours then same prob again tried unpluging cold start makes no difference?

any help with this would be great

You will only know if you have metering unit issues if they are fairly obvious. The reason i say this is that some of them can work for months and years before they need to be setup again. Some take a matter of hours or days.

So it really depends how good the metering unit is.

cant really say how good unit is as i bought it off ebay, car runs ok doesnt cut out, doesnt run rough just smells a bit fuel when its running and is very hard to start from cold

Hi I had exact same problem with my rs, I changed both the cold start valve and temp sender on back of the inlet and it started a little better but still not good at all from cold then started running on 3 cylinders, I changed the plugs to denzo uranium plugs today and she starts first turn everytime now, best £40 I've spent on her, hope this helps a little and you get the cold start sorted mate
