Default RS Turbo Metering head.

Hi I have a series one RS turbo and the metering unit has failed, could only find a series two unit, i fitted the unit but im not getting any fuel out.
There is fuel at the cold start but none at injectors, is it a incompatable problem or a sensor problem?
Dont think any fuel is returning in return to tank, could it be the regulator?
Do i need to change anything else to be compatable?
Have tried holding metering flap down, have tried changing the pressure regulator and tried a couple of s2 metering heads.

Could it be the fuel pump on the way out?? as in not enough pressure?

Can any one give me advice or a specialist garage where i can take it, i live in Dudley West Midlands.
Im at my wits end, any one please help.

They are different but totally interchangeable. So your problem is not in the metering being from an S2.

Default metering head

Hi...Still not solved my problem, but have been told its low fuel pressure.
There is a gorse type filter (been told) at the exit of the fuel tank, before the pump as this could be part blocked???
The pressure should be 5.5 to 6.0 bar at the metering head.

I will not have time to check mine for a couple of weeks but will let you know how i get on, if you solve your problem please let me know as im close to suicide..ha ha

My mail address is s.byng@sky.com to make things easy.

Have you checked that the fuel distributor has fuel in all four holes?
If you do then its a pressure issue.

I would also stick a multimeter on the fuel pump conections to check for 12v. Not been mentioned and was the cause of my problems

Maybe a stupid question but should there be fuel under the flap? I have a puddle of fuel under there.

No. .should be dry and clean ideally.

But used running engine will have some oil residue.

This is the first time trying to start the engine after putting it in the car. What could be causing this?

Not related, but if either of you want to sell one of the many metering heads you have (that work) I'd be interested
