Default Wastegate sticking

Hi everybody looking for some advice please

My wastegate on my S2 is sticking and not moving smoothly and making it a pain to drive.
I think it's because I don't use it much as it spends more time in my garage than out
Is it as easy as taking it apart and cleaning or will I need to find another elbow with wastegate.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Dan

Spray some wd40 or oil into the wastgate arm.are you sure its not a faulty/worn actuator? Has it ever been changed?
Id take the actuator off,oil the arm up,while moving the arm back and forth and that should loosen it up.

As above really, take the act off the arm and see if the arm moves freely, open the arm right up and see if it closes again easily. If oil etc doesnt free it up get hold of a good used elbow!

I had an elbow where the wastegate would stick open and actuator couldnt close it, there was a groove worn into the elbow and the wastegate penny would stick into the groove lol!

Hi guys thanks for the replys

It's got a -31 fitted about 3 years ago, and when me and a friend put a new starter on we cheaked the actuator with a hand vac pump and you could see the wastegate sticking while it was trying to open but it's opening in a jerky way.

Having the exhaust gasked changed on wednesday so i'll take another look and take some wd40 with me lol.
