Default Getting me car mapped :-)

Alright lads as above the car is booked in for the 23rd april to be mapped and can't wait!

Here's the spec:

2.0ZVH
efi
yellows
newman zvh phase 4 cam kit
port and polished head work
forge pistons
zetec rods/ arp bolts
2wd cossie t3/ 360 thrust bearing
pro alloy fmic
airtec rad

Not sure on how much boost pressure shall be being run, not wanting silly amounts just to keep it reliable and a good drive.

So what you reckon lads? Graph will be posted up when its all done

Its going up north mate, the guy who sorted the base map out etc is doing it pluss he knows the car so it seems right in just sticking with mark.

Mark is a good mate of karls (special k) who built the whole car.

Sounds interesting... What happened mate?! lol
As for what dyno, just take it anywhere with a dyno dynamics rolling road make sure they use a proper RPM pick up and shoot out mode 4f (IIRC) and the results will be fairly widely accepted as accurate... or as accurate as a RR can be of course.

This may sound hard to believe, but back in the 1990's i owned an S2 black RS Turbo with a Collins stage 1 chip, taking the car to 195 bhp.It also managed 50 mpg on a run if driven sensibly, and to this date was one of the most economical cars i owned. Also at the time i had an Astramax diesel van which was LESS economical than the RS.When i sold it on,the new owner had to put the standard chip back on the car for insurance purposes, and the MPG returned to about the low 30's.I currently have an E36 3.0 M3 BMW,which is also "chipped" to around 340 bhp,and on a run i can get 40mpg!

Lol, i was a believer until you said your 3.0 m3 was "chipped" to 340 bhp... then i stopped believing. You can't even remap a 3.2 evo and expect 340.

But any way,

Glad the OP got his car mapped, shame it didn't go back to the builder/ original mapper... but thats without knowing the ins and outs.

Well done mate!
Any idea why they mapped it so rich after around 4250rpm?

Cheers pal,

Not sure why it's a bit rich after 4250, jano might have some input.

Only took it to just under 6000rpm in 4th I've had it going to 7k on the rev clock! And didn't hit the limiter...? It does get scary when the loud pedal starts vibrating like fook!

It most likely hasn't got a rev limit set in the map

Will be interesting to know, Lambda 6.8 is 10.0:1 AFR which is crazy rich.
Did Jano map it then mate?

Yes mate, well.. a guy called paul hill mapped it who helps jano out when hes busy. Good bloke knows his stuff.

I dont get any mate no.
I'll have to look into it lol.

Been looking at the map today and as you can see it has full boost 3k!!! But as jano was mentioning to me earlier it drops up and down up the rev range? boost leak?

Paul Hills routinely maps very rich from what a few friends have had done. Its just easy to get the job done i guess, also trys to charge you more than Jano quotes sometimes.

IMO Rob thats just lazy, map it rich rather than spending the time to get that fine balance between power, det and a good AFR.
Like mappers who just adjust the top line of the fuel/advance tables on OEM ECU's to accommodate higher boost rather than rescaling the tables properly...
