electric windows not working..

Default electric windows not working..

as above........checked fuses...ok.....checked....switches...ok.....what do i try next....its been in the garage over the winter,was fine last time i drove it in oct....help.......

can you hear anything from the electric motor when you press the switch? if not try the switches..can get dust in them so the connections are poor.

you need a multimeter, then check that you have 12volts

they have plugs connecting the looms just inside the foot wells check the connections

cheers,there doesnt seem to be any voltage drop when i press the switch,cant hear anything from the motors,gonna clean all the connections up over the wknd,passenger window played up once before,next day it was fine tho....now both........

hi ... have had the same problem a couple of times on my old Saph. (know its not a Escort but maybe the problem is the same) ...... you press the sw. .. no sound no nothing and then suddenly they work againg a couple of times and so on . Problem was in the sw. itself ... took the sw. apart and on the internal connections there are some "dirt" (dont know what to call it in e english) where the moving parts touch when using the sw. ... I "cleaned" them .. put it back together and they where ok again

cheers people,will start with cleaning switches first,ill let you know how i get on,fucking hate electrics,colour blindness dont help

all is well now,it was the switches they were full of dirt....thankyou........
