Another 'it wont start' thread
It woudnt start yesterday so I checked a few things.
Replaced the fuel filter as its pretty old. Checked for spark and its there. And randomly it starts. Went to it today and it started no probs. Moved ot down the drive, turned it off and it wont start again! Checked for fuel on the injector line on the metering unit and there dont appear to be any. Im assuming it should flow out pretty fast? Ive got a massive pressure of fuel at the filter...this normal? Any ideas? It still has the cold start fitted btw. |
Yes it should have 5.5-6bar pressure from pump-metering head at all times (fuel accumulator holds this pressure so it will start easily after shutting off)
copied from another thread, which may give you a starting help "You won't get fuel to injectors by just having the fuel pump running, you need to have the pump running constantly and press down on the metering flap at the same time. you may not need injectors out, with pump running and pressing down on the flap gently, you should hear the injectors making a squeeling noise if they are opening. If fuel pressure is low, injectors won't open, think it needs to be 5.5-6bar. " Sorry, just sick of typing it every odd day  |
