Theres a chance but unless you drown it with a hose, theres not much more chance of it getting wetter no.

they dont do anything to cool the engine btw, been there and tried that one, if you do fit them its purely for looks!

Did a brilliant job of lowering temps in my mates old c20let corsa. Different car I know, but counteracts the blanket comments of 'they don't work'.

doesnt work for temps on escorts someone on here possibly sitech but may be some one else i cant remember had one tested in a wind tunnel and it actually caused turbulence under the floor just beneath the bulkhead which caused air to just swirl around the engine bay and created quite a lot of front end lift as well

I thought it did make a difference on engine temps??. A friend of mine was running around 230bhp in his red S2. Put bonnet raisers on it and his scuttle turned pink after a month??

haha could well have been. He was fighting a loosing battle against huge engine temps. It just made me think that the hot air escaping could of faded the paint. Although thinking about it I should imagine most of this would have been caused whilst stationary.

Waste of money IMO...

Like ppl say they Don't help wiv engine temps, ive read that they swirl the air and make things worse under the bonnet! They do look awful aswell!

Why do u need to increase the bonnet gap anyway? Its got around a 5mm+ gap all the way around it, plenty of air flow!

Raising the rear of the bonnet will help with cooling, but there is somthing wrong with the cooling system if you need that much help!

It will lower the air pressure under the front of the car, by allowing the air passing through the rad exiting through the back of the bonnet and not passing under the car and creating lift. (small)

But the biggest side effect is drag, all that extra air is now acting on the rad, IC, engine ect.

Look at all modern cars - they all have undertrays and propper radiator ducting.

Simon.
