what BC5 bearings do i replace with IB5 bearings? what other work has to be done?

All of them! lol
Main shaft, input shaft, diff, casing machined out, and main shaft sleeved IIRC.

Easier just to fit a younger low milage IB5 IMO, better chance of survival.
