brake help!
The brake pedal on my mk4 escort is soft when the engine is running, when the engine is off its solid. When its running and i pump the brakes my afr gauge shows it starts to run really lean the more i pump it. Anyone any ideas of what i could check? Must be drawing in air somewhere?

Well I have been having similar probs with my RS Cab and its got to be sorted so I can get mot done on it and drive it again 
I had to change the rear shoes and slave cylinders, bled the brakes and all was fine. I now have got to change the master cylinder (being done today hopefully). Apparently the seals can go in the master cylinders which gives you the spongy pedal.
