Are these rare?
I've got myself a pair of 6000 mile S1 Turbo recaros in my loft that I bought quite a few years ago to put in my Mk3 cabriolet. For all intents and purposes they look brand new - there isn't a mark on them anywhere, and they have always been covered. I haven't got the back seat or door cards because they were the same pattern as the ones in the cabby already.
The only reason I ask is that I've been working on the cabby and have had second thoughts about putting fitting these. The cabby's all have a tendency to leak, and its more than likely that they are going to get wet at some point. If they're hard to get thats probably not a good idea;- I don't want to wreck them.
Any advice would be appreciated.

i think most people get the cloth from the rear or passenger seat to make the drivers seat mint as thats the 1 that wears, so personally i would pay loads as the retrimming is not that expensive.
