Default Installing Top Mounts

Hello Guys,

I bought a pair of top mounts for my track toy, but i'm wondering or somebody has some tips for me. I'm thinking about how to install them and how to know where to drill the wholes for it

I bought them of corbymotorsport.com

here's a pic

if you don't mind me asking red bull how much are these and be aware though that you need coilovers really with them as they raise the cars ride height by 20mm

What car is it for?

as most cars people on this site use really need more caster, and those wont give you it

you are far better off adjusting the caster at the bottom imo.

Depends on the car, excessive bottom caster adjustment on an rs turbo for example, will pull the driveshafts forward and potentially exagerate torque steer and cv wear.
on a rwd saph though, yes bottom is good

Depends how much caster you want to end up with I guess.

I really like the feel of driving cars with lots, I want more even on my clio at some point and thats got a shitload to start with.

If wild caster is needed then moving the inner TCA pick up point is our prefered method still over eccentric top mounts on RST's (unless the strut top is modified) as that keeps the TCA/ARB angle correct.

The CV joints both inner and outer seem to cope with this with no adverse affect.

The Fiesta's wishbone does not lend itself to modifying caster too easily. We have tried eccentric spherical bearings in the wishbone's but he amount gained was tiny for the work involved.

For info Chip we are currently trialing a new one out on the Clio's for the rally challenge series thats taking hold now. That is a different one than the current two piece one which has been sucessful and sells lots. We are spreading the load more under the turret with the new ones, so it should allow a little more castor angle to be set at the top
