I think the CVH sump is a pretty good design so you don't really need it doing. I think NMS just weld one plate in them?

i think daz c may disagree with you there micky as he lunched Ł1000 worth of rods due to oil surge after he got his car handling bang on and has had to baffle and gate his sump!

Unlucky!!!I'm doing trackdays a long time, run slicks and can drive a bit and never had a problem. And I know a few of the hardcore trackday RST owners, and none of them have lost an engine due to surge.Up to people to spend the money and get one made, but I really don't think its needed.Regards,Micky

I had the sump years ago. It had nothing in it but a windage tray. It may probably have been fine on a pretty standard car.

Thinking back, I remember my old Orion 1.6i Ghia had a standard Ford baffled sump and didn't think anything of it when I fitted this other sump. I always remember the sump being a bit fiddly to get the pick up pipe past the baffles on the Onion and the basic sump just goes on really easy. I see a lot of RSTs with empty sumps now! Nothing more than a windage tray!

Sorry if this brings up a old post, but i just noticed it.

The photo's above are of one of my 'Baffled' standard sumps i do.

I strongely disagree about the 'NO' need for a baffle'd sump's on CVH's, as i have done alot of testing, and development to get to my final design'd baffle'd Sump.

Most gauges dont show oil pressure drop, as are not quick enough, but if you fit a fast gauge on a standard RST, then the surge is terrible (cornering, acceleration and braking)

The cams on a CVH is the first thing that suffers due to oil surge.
