no brakes again *problem found*
managed to get a decnet pedal with engine off after bleeding again.when engine is running there is none atallalso the revs will rise a bit when i press in pedal.is the servo knackered or is it drawing air causing revs to rise?

is a s2 servo better than a s1 item.i puttin a s2 master cylinder on for better pedal also but if i have to change servo anyway i might aswell upgrade to a s2 if its better?what about the one way valve between inlet and servo?this cause problems?sorry for all the questions its doing my head in.

S1 and S2 servo's would be the same in my opinion.I don't know if the 1 way valve acts up,buts its something to check to see its working ok.Sorry for the lack of info.Regards,Micky

Hi Steve,
I've been having the same prob with my S1. New master clyinder, Servo, braided hoses and copper pipes on rear. Solid pedal when engine off as soon as it starts pedal goes, still works but only the last 1/4 of the pedal at the bottom. Going to try a diff vacuum pipe this weekend so i'll let you know wot happens.

Did get loads of air out tho, also try to bleed the master cylinder as well..

Steve,
I changed my servo and it didnt make any difference at all. Have been driving the car round all weekend (BTW didnt touch the vacuum pipe) and to be honest the brake peddle is getting better. Was speaking to one of my mates who's a mechanic, he advised adjusting the nipple part of the rod that pushes the cylinder, Only by quarter turn max as to far will cause brakes to lock on when hot. Think i might give it a try one night this week.

mate i dont even know if i have solved the problem.the other servo that came was knackered.got a mint one on its way now along with a s2 master cylinder to upgrade from my s1 item.if you have upgraded any of the calipers to cossie items take one bolt out and tilt the nipple so its pointing straight up while bleeding.this will get any air out.

defo an air problem lads rst's are difficult to bleed at the best of times a knackered servo 9 times out of ten creates a rock solid pedal that takes a lot of effort to push as the job of the servo is to make the brakes lighter, the symptoms you guys are giving hard brake engine off and soft when running lead towards air in the master cylinder i would try bleeding again starting from the furthest point which will be drivers side rear bake and work your way to passenger side front, i would bleed every pipe join not just calipers/cylinders hope this helps
