Default how easy and long to take head off.

as in title for my s2.

i gna get new rings and head gasket coz loads of air coming from breather filter when you rev really high, (if that makes sense)

but dont know what size rings they are.

so gna have to have a look?????


im not to clued up thats why im asking

to do the rings properly, u need the engine out,stripped, and rehoned, so to do it properly, it all has to come out sadly

i am getting it done by someone mate. (he will supply parts) he said head gasket, rings etc and labour about £450.

but he said if i can find out what size the rings are first??????????

head takes about 20 mins to whip off, but wouldnt it be easier to talk it all out in one lump and let him look?
plus that sort of money, i would consider another bottom end thats been done with some low comps in

defo agree with the gentleman above, if you are going to be willing to spend that sort of money get some pistons in it and get the botom end rebuilt as theengine wil be out but just my opinion.

Tbh I just want it running right so I can sell it. I could sell it without doing all that but it's another little touch for when I sell it.

you'd get a low comp running engine for less than £500 second hand ready to fit.
makes more sense than sorting yours out for only a fraction less.

You can't just undo the bolts in any old order and take the head off. It needs to be un tourqued in stages in sequence.

As said, you can get a good spec used bottom end for £5-600 so I'd do that.

course you can take bolts off in any order, will need a skim then though most likely.
