i have a t2 piper and mine is very good! i think i gained alot of torque in the high rpms as the car used to die at 5500rpm now it stays in until 6200rpm and falling slowly.

when i rebuilt my top end i asked this and the conclusion was that the standard cam is good for decent power so unless wanting to go BIG power stick with it, so i put a new ford one in, plus at the time there were a lot of issues with the kent cvh and th piper 285t

Is the car standard? modified? different head? all these things make a big difference.
a piper 285 cam on a standard car running not much more than 200bhp aint worth it.
go upto 300bhp and the standard cam starts to show that it is struggling.
this is where any reprofiled cam is better.

I ran a CVH 35 on a stage 2 on my first engine, it made 210bhp at 17psi on a few different rollers. It does lose some spool up, but it makes it a lot livelier at the top, peak power on mine was 6100.

i've run cvh35 klent cam and piper285T2, both great cams in their own right for power up the revs, both suffered premature wear and both cost a lot(ish)
to be honest on a new standard profile cam it's more driveable, but there is a definite torque drop high up the revs.
