I'd say you have low oil pressure!! That's what the light is there for. LOL.

Not good I'm afraid. How old is the engine?

Oil is thicker when it's cold, so oil pressure is naturally higher and when you raise the revs, oil pressure goes up too. However, if the light is on at idle, the engine is tired I reckon. ;(

I had the same issue a while back.

Was big end bearings im afraid. Using up most of the oil to stay pressurised once they had loosened. Rest of the engine was running dry. I ended up opting for a full rebuild.

Replacing big ends without having crank checked is a no-no in my book. Also, if the big ends are gone, the rest of the engine is probably similarly worn. It's crunch time fella, I'm afraid.
