Default Dirty header tank

My header tank has gone mingin, inside has orange shite in it, any1 got any tips i can use to clean it up?

They aren't that expensive. Buy a new one IMO.

I tried to clean mine up, it's come up OK, but then it wasn't that bad to start with. Any worse, I would have just replaced it. Seriously.

As above, bung it in the dishwasher while yer mum isn't looking! Will bring it up like new

Or you can fill it with some water, biological washing powder, bit of bicarbonate of soda and some rice (for abrasion), and give it a good shake!

I left mine filled with thick bleach overnight, then tried Flash Ultimate, before 300°c with a £2k Steam Cleaner, still didn't get rid of it all!!

it stains the plastic, thts the problem, and the problem with the dishwasher it can make them crack!

i found filling it with petrol and rice and shake it like made, got that tip off someone on here, came up really nice, then put it in the dishwasher for an even better finish.

yeah i did mine ages ago. washing powder, boiling water and a good shake. then dry it out, and use dry (pasta i used or) rice to get rid of the tide marks.

as said above, it will always be a little stained..but ive always done mine by soaking in bucket of bleach and scalding water over night
