where did the 90-spec bumper need cut and by how much?

I'm looking at using the GRS intercooler and rad with twin fans (slimline ones) and want to have the bumper cut just now before it gets painted.

you need to get the cooler on first, then trim, you'll struggle otherwise.

Agree with Rick for sure....depends how you mount it to be honest mate, i dropped mine down below the front cross member for better airflow to the rad. I know some people have managed to fit them without cutting but it's way to tight if you do that imo. Get it fitted then offer the bumper up to see how much needs trimming.

Had my Radtec intercooler fitted last year they took off this plastic stripe behind the bumper and a bit of foam where the fan was touching here's a few pictures of mine hope this helps Kevin.

As said, totally depends how you install it.
Is your fan(s) to go in front of the I/C or behind?
I installed a GRS with kenlowe inbetween and had to take some off the bumper, but mainly the skinny uppermost bar. I also made some little custom spotlight brackets so i could still have them fitted.
Best to fit eveything as you want it and then your last job should be to mod the bumper to suit.

It took a little bit of work tbh but not a massive amount, i chopped off the lip on the front cross member, spaced out in the intercooler so it cleared the cross member and mounted it lower down so the bottom outlet on the intercooler nigh on touches the chassis rail. Alot better fitment imo, the top of the intercooler is in line with the top of the bumper rather than sitting up under the bonnet, it also allowed a good air gap between rad and i/c. I then had to chop away some of the inside of the bumper. I'll take some pics tomoro in the light and post them up micky

Good man Dave,looking forward to the pic's.Its just I thought of doing what you have described,as I've seen Fiesta RST front intercoolers mounted down low,but just figured it would'nt be possible on a RST as too much would be needed to be trimmed off the back of the bumper.I await youre pic's with much interest!! Thats what I love about Passionford,always someone to educate me on better idea's!!Regards,Micky

Thats exactly how I've done mine also. You also don't get the bonnet release arm touching the cooler and not closing properly. I'll get some pics tomoz.
