Default some advice on T34 turbo fitted to my rs turbo

hi.... i brought my first Rs turbo on the weekend.... its got a gotech engine management system radtec fron mount intercooller full scorpion system an a t34 turbo got the print out and it rteads 182bhp not sure how mch psi its runnin...

the only problem is i get a log of lag from the turbo..... for this set up which turbo would fit and reduce the lag???

how much bhp would i lose or gain from this and would it need tuning

as i dont want to lose any bhp just reduce the lag

thanks for your help

id go for a stage 3 t3 mate.i had a t34 on my zvh running 300 bhp, dont think you need it on yours to be honest.would make the car much better to drive, better to get it set up to be on the safe side.reason i say stage 3 t3 is running that power wont be at its limit so you could up the power if you wanted to. my opinion anyway.cheers

Do not go for a Stage 3 T3 it has the same exhuast housing as a standard T34 (.48)so your lag will be the same!

A Stage 2 T3 will be plenty (good for over 220bhp) and have no more lag than a standard T3 as it retains the .36 exhaust housing.
By a setup he means you will need to be setup/tuned on the rolling road after fitting your new turbo.

Ebay turbo's are a big risk, there is a lot of cheap crap out there!

I'd recommend http://www.crturbos.co.uk/ or http://www.turbotechnics.com/docs/index.htm

and that one you linked to has a .48 exhaust so no it would be laggy like your T34.

Thats correct you need to find your nearest tuner that is experienced with Gotech to get the best setup.

Stage 2 T3 is about Ł500ish (best to call and check to be 100%), and a setup can be anything from Ł100 upwards depending on how long it takes.

Depends on how many miles it's done and if you know it's exact spec, anything from Ł50 to Ł300.
I'd just ebay it if it came with your car and you dont know it's history..... see what you get.

the person who had my car before me has told me to go to jamsport as they specialize in gotech. so what should i do get a stage 2 t3 turbo fit it and then book it in with them to get mapped??

is it safe to drive the car without it bein setup or is it worth trailering it up to jamsport?

Sounds good to me mate, Jamsport are well known and have a good rep!
You can fit the turbo yourself but make sure you turn your boost all the way down and drive up there off boost just to be safe!

New turbo will spool up a lot faster than the T34 specially at the 182bhp your running, and a good setup is always welcome on a RS mate! So should feel a lot nicer to drive

call Jamsport on 01604 755529, they will advise you on whats best for your needs & remapping costs.
the stage 3 T3's can be laggy on a 1600 but can be very good if driven properly!
