The engine in mine was dyno'd and made 245bhp/230ft pounds of torque with 1.5 bar held to the limiter but i'm afraid it ain't cheap to get properly/reliably! It was on the front cover of fast ford dec 07 as i took it to one of their thrashes where it did pretty well considering spec/power. Engine's done countless trackdays, been up the pod and generally thrashed lol and still in one piece. Brief spec, similar sort of setup to 'linsay's' i think ;
Fully rebuilt 1.6 using 0.5 oversized pistons
Arp rod bolts
Ported head/newman cam
Turbo dynamics hybrid t3 specced for 250bhp
Omex 600 ecu
Grs intercooler etc etc

My advice to the original poster would be to buy a car already running the power you want with reciepts/printouts for all the work. This IMO would save so much time and money in the long run

Yes, very similar as mine and had similar life of hammer with the trackdays and pod etc, think it did similar times/terminals from memory
My 243bhp engine was probably the best set up i had for road and track - just enough, like dave says spent a lot to get it to do this properly/reliably

it's having a bit of a rebuild at the moment dave, as the old block got a bit tired
are you taking yours to pod in april?

I agree, nice track setup with 'enough' power to embarrass some quicker heavier cars! Cool, what spec are you goin for now linsay, one of karl's 300bhp beasts???!! Doin a few bits and bobs at the mo for its first trackday hopefully end of feb so if it's still in one piece yeah i'll be up pod in april! Got most of the bits for a bottom end rebuild for mine too now, just waitin on some je pistons which are takin forever lol.
