Hi guys,
I phoned chipped uk today as im interested in a chip for a 1.8 zvh turbo build im planning. Im on a right budget but wondered about the possibility of a chip. Sure i dont know enough to install any aftermarket management so i thought id look into the chip option.
I spoke to a bloke that ran a 300bhp 1.8 zetec turbo as featured in an early fast ford mag and he is adamant that the engine can easily take 235 hp... any more and it will be uncontrollable.
He quoted me a great price for half a day on the rollers and full map to get the 235 to 250 bhp mark... im well happy and that was on mfi management
Just wondered if anyone has dealt with them personally. Ill be heading up there after christmas, ready for the nurburgring in march time!

At best he will trick the ECU to not go into overboost protection mode then wind your boost up. Wether he has the knowledge to turn the fueling up to match correctly is another debateable subject.

There is nothing to plug into the ECU (which controls the ignition only) and the calibration is stored within the proccessor and cannot be accessed.

You're talking about one of the most known about con artists in the RS tuning world and beyond. If it's not right or it blows up, nothing he will have done will be at fault even if it is. He will blag you with something comeletely irrelevant.

But would it be done though? And would it be done correctly if it did get done?
