seems a stupid arse way of doing it to me, may as well go full cossie including yb if your converting the floor plan to 4x4 Just buy an old saff with a rotten shell and use that for the conversion

Although you could use the RS2000 4x4 setup which I know has been done a couple of times.

If he wanted to use the cossie grearbox and 4x4 on a zetec, he would have to mount the engine length wise, best person to talk to would be the fella who runs a zetec in a Sierra.

The bell housing is the last of his problems, custom engine mounts, exhaust, pipework, to name but a few

Hope your mate has deep pockets, doubt he would get any change out of 10k if he did it on the cheap

You could let you friend know, if he wanted to save a sh1t load of time and money, I have a converted MK4 shell ready to take all the running gear from a cossie....That's if he wanted to do it properly....

a well specced zetec turbo running 4x4 gear from an RS2000 would be a weapon!

the running gear will be chocolate and melt with any decent power, never ever seen one yet that holds together with good power

I expect it can be done as Dan from fast ford has a zetec turbo in his sierra which is rear wheel drive. He may be able to provide details of where to get a bell housing to mate the cossie 4x4 gearbox to the engine..

I think the reason the cossie has been been done is that it works, I fail to see what your mate will gain other than problems, with having to make engine mounts etc

None turbo maybe, A turbo would kill the running gear quite quickly

Evo running gear would be miles better!

The only thing that I haven't seen done with ease is to fit a 4x4 oil pan with the differential to a zetec. Some serious tigging would be involved.

does anyone mind the white FRST in Fast Ford a few years ago? It was running a 2.1 zvh and 4wd, think it was mondeo running gear in it but it was supposed to be about 250 bhp?
