can you run a zvh on mfi?????????

jacko 01-03-2008 01:56 PM

you can mate but you will need a fifth injector and you cant run much boost

jonnyrsturbo 01-03-2008 02:00 PM

how much boost?

jacko 01-03-2008 02:14 PM

standard cut down pistons 12 psi

jonnyrsturbo 01-03-2008 02:21 PM

was goin to get full piston and con rod set?

jonnyrsturbo 01-03-2008 02:22 PM

proppa 1's

bonus_boy 01-03-2008 02:30 PM

why dont you just go efi anyway...its much better!

:)

B1G_RST 01-03-2008 04:31 PM

my car wont be goin zvh then :(

1.9 xr2 on 40's 01-03-2008 05:36 PM

plenty of people run high power mfi zvh's

if the engines up to it the mfi can be too

mfi isnt unknown for 300 nags so will take as much as a zvh will need

grsford 01-03-2008 05:59 PM

if your thinking of forged pistons and steel rods then i would sugest saving your money and getting decent managmet as a standard engine will see 220-230 bhp with the right managment unless you can do both engine and managment

Mr.T 01-03-2008 07:18 PM

Mate of mine is running a 2.0 zvh on MFI well was anyway. Proved on the RR 228hp and 298NM or something with chipped ecu. No extra inj.

Gregor 01-03-2008 07:19 PM

My ZVH made 230 bhp at 11 psi orso without a fifth injector....

Could be raised to about 14 psi saifely as for the fuel so i was told by the dyno operator.

Have to mention i have forged pistons so don't know what standard can cope with but thouhgt 14 psi would be safe...

Just what You want....

For real power EFI is the way..

Ohh hehehe..Jeroentje RS beat me to it... he's talking about my engine....:P

Mr.T 01-03-2008 07:27 PM

to late  i am always faster :blabla: ^^

zvh

hi all, many years ago when my 2.1 was on mfi,on the rollers i could only hold 12psi,which was 185@wheels,that was using mahle pistons on 7.5.1 cr,its as said above to get most out of engine fuelling and ignition upgrades are req,££££££

juffer 02-03-2008 05:16 PM

efi costs lots of money!!!!!!!!! standard gearbox's handels a true 200 bhp about! and unless you want to pay more for the uprated gearbox's ££££ and £1000+ for efi you had may aswell run mfi as this is good for 220 bhp easy! and mf2 aquamist fifth injector costs about £250 and then run a safe 250bhp. imo until you have covered the basics of you engine and gearbox handling the power save your money and run mfi as you cant get full potential otherwise. i do agree efi is the best way but does not agree with everyone's wallet!!!!

How does efi cost you in excess of £1000????

juffer 02-03-2008 08:54 PM

fitting, parts, plus setting up properly all costs money, jano from oddkidd if im not mistaken does all this for around £1000 plus using webber management (cosworth) unsure on exact figure you can use fiesta rs which is cheaper but if you are going to go down that route you may aswell get the better management as that what it is all about but even tho if it only cost £500 the statement is still true imo.
