Got 17's on mine now and can't say i've noticed that much difference in performance, also depends on how much u've lowered it as to how the car will drive....i have still got the 15's with R888's for trackdays tho

I have lowered it 40mm on both ends. The car seems a bit heavy on the cornering and it keeps on "blasting" the front control arms bushings...

PS

Anyone here have the upgraded (powerflex for exa.) bushings installed on their car?
Any brand that you can recommend?

im running poweflex with koni's and a 25mm drop on 17inch without issue... with a 40mm drop Im not surprised you have clearance issues, bet the ride and handling is horrible as well

I selected poweflex over other brands as these come with stainless steel inserts and not all the other brands do, some cheaper ones have mild steel inserts

Of the two choices given and the answer being performance then the 15's will win hands down no question every time, unless its top speed your after.

But you try getting a half decent and useful competition tyre in that size

Big enough brakes for the lightweight rst can easily fit under 15's and since when has looks got anything to do with performance ?

They are a nice compromise thats all

Lift it up by 15mm as -40 will be placing too much constant load on them.

Or fit adjustable arms to compensate for the lowering (this in the long run will also save your tyre edges and wheel bearings from rapid wear).
