Default Bad news for my RS - Any advise????

Hi all

Hoping you can give me some well needed advice on what I should do next with my RS 

I originally bought the car with the intention of getting some extra £££££ when my mortgage is up for renewal next year. The problem now is that the interest rates are taking a beating and I can see me having the spare cash.

After thinking long and hard I decided I would sell the car on, I just wouldn’t be happy not doing the work I planned.

Sooooo, I stuck the car in the ‘For Sale’ section of an N.Ireland forum. And was greeted with the following response :

sorry to be the bearer of bad news the rs used to be mine I have a DVD made of every bit a work I had done on it { never again lol }

the white clocks are not original there out of a 1989 xr31 the shell is not original that’s a xr3i shell welded and sprayed etc,

thought I would let you know chum very sorry!!!!

if i can remember, we had welded over the chassis number if you look theres none!!

I’m waiting on a reply from the fella and i'm hoping he will give me a ring ASAP.

I wouldn’t be happy selling the car on to someone as is, so what are my options if any? Or is the only option to break??? It’s a pity because ive spent a fair few quid getting the car running right. Only real thing that needs doing now is body work. The car has been MOT’s so i’m assuming the chassis number on the front got it through.

Any help would be really appreciated.

as above.............

either sell as a track car and explain the reason.........

or if you have the time and space, break it up, you will fetch more in bits.....

Good luck with what ever you do........

regards

does your log bok say rs turbo?

the previous owner has all but owned up to ringing the car, not something id be boastin on an internet forum

these cars are old now and more than 1 has a dubious past

as said above be worth more in bits, ive broke a few and they make more that way

id be well pissed off and the old bill would be givin the previous owner a visit

Yup, log book shows it as the original RS turbo. Even has some history with it from its 1st purchase in Belfast.

Thought about phoning the cops but not sure how that would leave me?

Make sure he is genuine, I know I wouldn't be boasting about it over the internet.
