I hear here on forum that one guy , dont remember the name, changed few starters and when he put starter from fiesta diesel problem with starting solved.
i fitted a diesel starter the other week and to my suprise started a lot quicker and on the button. It was less sluggish than the old one which took 15 seconds of turning over.I was told it had a slightly higher gear ratio but didnt believe that as he usually chats out of his ring peace and it looked the same as the old one.I had no problems since

LOL - correct he was chatting shit! The gear ratio is determined by the teeth on the motors pinion gear and the teeth on the flywheel. The only difference in starters is the bigger ones have more windings internally, which means a higher current draw and larger power output.
Seeing as a turbo motor is lower compression than most of its N/A equivalents (and MASSIVELY lower than a diesel), you don't need mega Amp drawing starters, additional to the fact the downpipe on the turbo is so close it over heats the starters, the smaller the starter is the less heat it will soak up - and thats proven!
