PETROL SMELL!!! S1 RSt
 

:cry: sat in McD car park, getting occasional wiffs of petrol. quite strong but doesn't last very long. checked all joints under bonnet, no sign of a leak. any thoughts???

Yeah - you own an RST :cry:

Every RST I been in/drove/owned has smelt of petrol, mainly if they have air filters, exhausts etc tho....

Only worry about it if it catches fire - otherwise ignore :cry:

new some one that had a mgb gt and that had the same thing turned out to be the tank it had a big hole in the top of it
do you smell it when its nearly empty :?

or just when its be filled up thats when my m8 found out just brought the car (with nothing in the fuel tank) whent a filled it up and driving home all he could smell was fuel :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: woth a look m8

alan s1. tank is full at the moment, will check it when empty...

mine had a little leak out of the copper washer on the fuel filter, it was at the back of it so i couldnt see it until i had a proper close look,only smelt it when in traffic and after giving it beans

Don't worry about it mate i get a petrol smell every so often.

On my spanking new fuel system, I get a small amount of fuel coming out of the breather when I go round bends or accelerate hard but only while the tank is full.

just sit back and take in the beutiful ingredient that provides so much lovely boost. :top:
