Default S2 starting when cold but not when hot.

Alright , i bought an 90 spec rs turbo yesterday, first thing this morning it started straight away with no problems, but when i drive somewhere it wont start unless i leave it for about 20 mins, as if i have to let it cool down to start it, i rang the man up i bought it off and he said its because when the turbo gets hot, it puts heat on the alternator which causes whats happening, but surely this cant be right can it. if it was would some sort of heat shield round the turbo work, or has any got any experience of this happening to them, thanks alot. im taking to a garage tomorrow jus to make sure everythings running perfect but would just like some advice before hand.

the heat from the turbo cooks the windings in the starter motor so it wont start when hot but will when it cools down its got nothing to do with the alternator, ford do a starter motor heat shield which sits above the starter motor and protects it from the heat from the turbo

Get a starter off a smaller engined car as they are a lot smaller, i use a 1.4CVH starter which came off a H plate Mk5 escort, original ford jobby and its still going strong
