Default MFi beather system, how to vent to atmos.

if i wanted to get rid of the crap ford breather, but dont want an after market breather tank, how could i go about modding it, so it vents to atmos. with out making the MFi stall out cause of an air leak.

heres a crap drawing of how im sure the MFi breather is piped. If someone wants to mod that drawing and show what needs doing, i would be greatful

cheers

Easy one this, keep all the Ford stuff, just
1.diconnect hose from metering unit and put it into a catch tank,ie fancy stainless tank OR empty plastic bottle!!!
2.Block off the hole into the metering unit so no air can get in.

Easy!!!!Regards,Micky

Since ive done a lot of work on the cabby i dont even run the plastic pipe to the metering unit, ive just left the top of the oil control filter open to atmosphere, if your engine is in a good state you shouldn't get any oil out really.

And i currently have a 3/8 - 1/4" socket reducer blocking the hole in the air box

Its all coming out soon anyway and being replaced for the EFI so hence why i have taken such measures

No one said there was anything wrong with it, still best not to have it recirculating back into the air box though.

Yeah... An open breather system.

It will cost about 50p for a wheel nut to block the pipe that goes into the metering unit.

Which one way valve have you broken?

Karlos G, MFI cars are sensitive to air leaks as im sure you are aware, and as it left the factory, the engine has about a million potnential air leaks........

Get one from the scrappy off a brake servo pipe or similar, make sure you fit it in its correct orientation though
