The d.v does release pressure, yes...but the chatter sound is the compressor 'chopping' the air as it gets forced to slow down...ive only really heard of T4 turbo's shitting themselfs, in rog's case..it could of been bad luck/worn turbo...

You know i think i have at least 5 of them
Although the ones with arrows arent the originals, the unmarked ones with lines across are the originals.
Think the arrowed ones are from old skool granada's
