i would of thought will crack in no time, needs to be 2.5 - 3mm to take the strain of the wieght of the turbo and the heat.

I just wish I was able to run it on the old set up to see how it performs against the standard manifold.
On the standard manifold EGT was building up, however unlike Christian I was still using the 2.5 inch exhaust.

Nice big exhaust ports.
Just need the engine to bolt it to now! and decide where to put the external wastegate.

Hi Tim,
I had 2 runs in the morning with full GPS. In the first one, which the times are taken from, I had a problem towards the end of the run where my actuator vacum pipe blew off so I had to back off, hense fastest to cover the mile even though shut off 2 seconds earlier.
The second run I had a plug lead come loose so misfiring (its the one shown on the PF vid)
In the afternoon I was fitted with the driftbox or somthing! I had a good run upto 166.6 with plenty of runway to go when the Felpro headgasket let go.
So I was happy with 166.6 but feel it was a missed opertunity. As I had to cut short my runs and was only running 25psi not the mapped 30psi.

I wonder how easy it would be to modify the mounting flange to suit other cars...........??? wouldn't cost much i'd imagine..............

As I'm only aiming for 270-300 max mate a tubular won't benefit me power wise ..but I'm just thinking along the lines of its out the way over the box away from the rad and cooler and it will fill a space left by binning the MFI unit ..

It doesn't matter if your going crazy power or not , there are gains to be made even on a mildly modified engine it all comes down to cash vs gains and what you want to spend.
As you know heat is always a major concern on any turbo engine , moving the turbo over the gearbox allows the heat to be moved away from the inlet components , piping etc , allows you to have more room in the bay , allows the use of a thicker or alloy radiator , bigger fans and even a larger front mounted intercooler without cutting to much of the original bumper /bodywork about. They did a test on the zetec engine which was very standard aparts from piston etc just changing the inlets and the gains were very good around 30 /40 bhp. Just be careful on the tube diameter if your running long headers as bigger is not always better and a proper designed merge collector will also help instead of welding 4tubes together. when I built Luca's fiesta zetec turbo manifold he made another 50 odd bhp and the same in torque at the same boost level so it did its job.
If you need any help mat just send me a pm and I will do my best to lend a hand
Cheers paul

That's what iam trying to do with my engine , dry sump system , jenvey inlet manifold , custom billet trumpets , bigger throttle body ( maybe individual throttle bodies) , new exhaust manifold , new head work , and most importantly a new modern turbo etc etc . My engine made 522bhp at 30psi , if I can get the same results or better at a lower boost level then I've achieved my goal.
Less heat , boost , revs makes for a longer lasting engine lol
Cheers paul

That's the way Paul ..im trying the same logic if possible.. only thing that will probably hold me slightly back is inlet side as I'm stopping S1 inlet for now ..but hopefully all the rest will help a little .
