1 Bar Boost!!
Hi, i am about to purchase a erst s2!!
The fella i am buying it off says it is running 1 bar boost - which i hear using as an every day car is not such a good thing!! (he has had it as a project and a toy really - weekend drivng only he says!!)
Bassically i was wondering if it is possible to change the boost bar to a better/more usable - and what boost is advisable to use for a dialy driver??
I am very new to Turbo cars so any help would be much appreciated!!
Another quickie - would anybody be able to list what things i should change at what time to keep the car running sweet!!
Cheers,
Dumpy

you can adjust the actuator rod m8 shortening turns up the boost lenghning turns down the boost,
or buy a boost control of ebay about 20 quid
but just check this with some1 on here to make sure i got that the right way round m8 about the rod

as above mate
i ran my old standard rs turbo everyday for 4 years at 1 bar boost with no problems
as for keeping it running sweet
change the plugs - ford motorcraft 071s or ngk bcr8es
new oil - fully synthetic
oil filter - ford
fuel filter - ford
and a full rolling road setup

As said ... I run mine on 1bar as a daily and have no problems with it, and it'll only boost that high if I intend to floor it, which I don't do everyday.

About 18 PSI here
- chipped ECU (obviously)
- std actuator at the moment (uprated one to be fitted soon)
- bog std internals and head (90000 miles)
- self adjusted fuel-pressure actuator (yeah, I'm nuts... :P )
- std intercooler but front bumper cut out and spotlights removed to allow better air flow. Gonna fit an Audi TDI intercooler soon.
It's a track car though, no daily runner. But when it's driven, it's driven hard.
No problems so far *knockonwood*
No jerking, cutting-out, hesitating whatsoever. Not bad for a DIY test object, eh?
