You have to swap the "yolk" to your mk 3 one. Also my mate had the same problem that he said the cable was to short turned out he had the callipers on the wrong sides to each other. Are yours definitely right?

I have the calipers fitted so if you were to look at the passenger side of the car they would be on the left of the disk. My new yolk looks the same size as my old one. Any other ideas?

How big is the yoke? The one on the RS2000 cable is MASSIVE and will foul the floor pans, the standard one on the car should be considerably smaller.

When i did mine i found the one side of the cable was a very tight stretch:

Yer...............when i first went to fit mine i was there forever trying to figure out how they went, the most logical way i could see was how you have them, but i refused to mount them that was as i didnt like the sharp bend in the handbrake cable.

then i went to ford fair, first car i saw, and i was like, ah......of course

I seriously would try and mount them the same way as mine but you will probably find your braided hoses aren't long enough then

they are fitted back to front the package should be fitted towards the back of the car. as for the yolk on the cable you need to remove your standard one swop them over unless you want to ruin the underside of what looks like a very tidy motor. the braided hoses will then be too short but one of a cossie should do the trick or give burtons a call i believe they supply the required hoses

Towards the rear of the car would be the correct way to fit them, but that would then leave yours even shorter. I'd say you have been supplied the wrong cable.

Mine I would say is slightly too long, but it works fine. (And that uses the Mk5 RS2000 cable).

Tony, i now see why you don't have the problems everyone else does.

When you have the tank in you have to clip the cable round the chassis legs, this is where my problem is, yours runs in a straight line so is ok for you, but you have your tank in the car

Good point

So if it needs to be longer - how much longer does it need to be ?

I could ask my friend in the trade to source longer ones with the same ends

Tony, realistically, not much longer at all. The adjustable side was fine, it was only the non adjustable side that was a bit tight. Had i not cable tied it to the tie rod it wouldn't of been an issue but i didn't want the cable flapping around fouling the tyre and/or tank, and i see you too decided to cable tie it to the tie rod.

I would say literally an inch longer, 2 inches max. and it would be PERFECT for the job

S1 JOHN, the cable is right mate, you could try them in the other position and see how you get on
