Got my first rs
Well guys i know its a bit sad but im really excited coz tomorrow im going to get my first rs. Its a 98 black escort rs turbo,90,000 fsh all mots standard apart from mongoose and k&n. Oh and the wheels. But ive been after one since i was about 10 and now 19 am for-filling my childhood dream. Getting it tomorrow but cant drive it for 3 weeks just until i get 1 years ncb, bugger.
Was going to put a dump valve on it but dont know which one to go for? I know allot of people run baileys and a few use collins, so i will probably end up like the majority and get a bailey one, unless advised other wise. But watch this space for some pics
I dont think i can sleep if i go to bed, its like Christmas lol

Dump valves are neccesary if you silly massive Boost on a turbo with quite a small shaft, such as a T4. But on your escort rst? Pah. All it does is make it run shite.

eh? its there to stop the turbo from slowing down whilst off boost!?
so when u go back on throttle u get a better response!
and how can u say it makes the car run like shit idling problems when ive had none in 7 years of owning 5 s'2
yes there was idling problems in earlier dump valves but the likes of forge and bailey designed the twin piston setup to conquer this problem!

Glad you are realising your dream mate
If you must have a dumpvalve (we've all been there be honest )make sure you get a twin piston unit. When you get bored and have had enough of sounding like a bus you will have a nice paperweight for your desk at work like me.

congrats on the new car i was the same always wanted 1 and finally got one when i was 21 and 10yrs on still have it lol
Ive been on both sides of the dump valve debate and to be honest there just an air leak and my car runs better and pulls harder without it.

Well my mate brought the car back last night and i went with him.
Ive got sooooo many questions to ask, any way lets start with a simple one. Its got 17s and is lowered on what i think is spax fixed, and it is a nightmare. Its just too hard, and at 70 mph the steering wheel is going mad, just pulling and shaking all over the place.
I was thinking standard wheels, have the tracking and balancing looked at, and then depending how it is then possibly got back to standard suspension.
Any suggestions guys and girls?
Oh and i promise ill get some pics up soon

Wheels sound off balance for sure, check brake discs aswell though they might be warped...
If its really hard to manage it could be lowered too much since 17s don't usually cause many probs on s2's. Don't go below 30mm springs and it should be fine
