Default repair or new scuttle

hi
this is the only bit of rot/rust on the windsreen scuttle, everywhere else is solid, would you advise cutting the rot out and welding in a good piece or fitting a new scuttle?
cheers
lee

Change it mate - don't try and repair a hole of that magnitude.

if you feel confident enough you can repair it then go for it, but u need to grind it back first cos theres still guna be a LOT of rot surrounding it.

For the time its going to take to repair you could probably fit a new one, although i thought the wings had to come off personally because the sides of the scuttle are welded to the inner wings?

to be honest i would just repair it ,much less hassle than taking both wings off all you would have to do is cut out the rot and weld new piece back in, thats what i would do anywho

For ease,i would cut a section out, about 4 inches in from each wing and just weld middle section in. Saves messing about with removing wings but you will still have 80% new scuttle
