Default TURBO ? ANY ADVICE

On my S2 turbs i have a problem it doesnt seem to effect the power but was just wondering if the fault fault was fixed would it make the car respond better. On my TURBO where its bolted to the manifold there is a very small exhaust leak you can feel it with your finger but its not blowing at some stage im going to take the TURBO of and refit the it. At the moment it does appear that the TURBO is not perfectly aligned where it bolts on to the manifold which is probaly the reason why its leaking any advice on this will be appreciated CHEERS
OH one other question ? Can you buy a gasket that goes in between the TURBO and MANIFOLD and also do u have to use the small metal things that stop the nuts from coming loose where it bolts to the MANIFOLD WHAT DO U THINK ?

Its always best to use the lockwashers on the nuts just in case they come undone. In fact i wouldnt drive it without them.As far as your leak is concerned it depends how much its leaking. If its next to nothing then when you drive it the manifold and turbo get hot and it wont leak as much.I have one but it goes when the engine warms up.Finally they dont have a gasket between the turbo/manifold.Its supposed to be two perfectly flat faces.

Nice 1 thanks m8 but at some stage i will get it sorted. So can you buy new lock wasers as my ones are a bit f***ked. Might have to give Burton power a bell and see if they do them.

They should do em in any decent accessory shop or garage. They should be able to say where you can get em.Ford will probably do em and they should be pence mate.Burton power will prob rip you off.

Ive had a gasket supplied with a recon turbo but ford don't do one. the lock/star washers are essential if you have a leak as i found that it kept losening offf with no washers
