Pain to start my hot RS. Having Cold start valve plugged in.

Got a bid of a starnge on with my Escort RST. If I have my cold start valve in its fine when cold (understandably) but when its hot it just won't start and when disconnected it starts fine. also when its left connected it drains the battery. now following the haynes wiring guide it says that it connect in series to the thermo time switch :bat: It also cut and says it goes to C, what ever that is. SO what u reckon, shall I try changing the thermo time switch or u reckon its what ever this circuit plugs into. Its annoying me a bit now. What should the resistance be of a good time switch.

Cheers for looking folks

Defo sounds like the switch is constantly on and is flooding the engine. Never had to change one so can't help on that score but as a very temporary bodge to fix it, you could run a rocker switch off the wire then just use it like a manual choke to turn it on when starting from cold. - Not a very satisfactory solution I know.

I got a whole engine in my garage. so will try swapping the switch. I know it aint the car cos the engine did the same in its old shell
