Speed ramps . . . .
Hi peeps. After years of wanting a S1 and finally owning one, my thoughts for the new year are to sell this. . . . .
and buy an Escos. It's the old " wanting more power " syndrome ! The thing is there are litterally 100's of speed ramps round my way in every direction and i feel this could be a big stumbling block. The S1 does get over them but only with me in and not by much. How do you guys cope with this ? ! ! !

Go a different route Thtas the worst option, other than that stop before going over them and then creep over them BUT still my lower splitter catches and you can hear it

speed humps are a no go you have to find a different route. i also found you have to watch out for certain petrol stations where the exits dip down on to the road you def knock the front splitter , you just have to give some thought to where your going really I would say unless there is route without speed humps dont bother because you will get the hump ( sorry ) with knocking your car all the time

mine can get over almost any hump/bump... its how you approach it!!! drive over it doing a zig zag and if you get the right angle the tyre touches the ramp/hump/bump before the splitter... mines pretty low aswell and only ever have major problems with big dips in fast roads!!! then it does catch

It's on a SMALL slant but also in the gutter m8.
This is the normal ride height. And to be totally honest, I don't have big problems with ramps as long as they are a bit longer and don't go up and down again straight away. Biggest advantage of the Esc Cos there is that they don't have a big "overpass" in front of the front wheels.

My Escort Cossie splitter measures 10cm from the ground. I have no real problem getting over any speed bumps, and there are a few where I need to drive. But to protect the lower splitter, I have mounted a piece of MDF, so protrudes by about 5mm. Therefore when I do scrap it, the MDF wears down and not the splitter. The pictures are not great, but you might just spot the MDF.
