Question plus a milestone!!
First the milestone. Finally got my cossie registered OK here in the US!!! Yeah sounds trivial, but its not. First time through too, no problems, and its even registered as a cosworth escort!
now for the question: in high G corners (not pushing it at all, just a fast highway ramp etc) I feel a strange driveline or chassis shudder. The whole car seems to shake.
It did it when I had bad tires and no alignement, so I got all new tires, new rims and a good alignment done. Still does it just as bad, it made ZERO difference
I feel it more in the seat of my pants than in the steering wheel, and if I clutch when its doing it, it continues to do it. I had it up on the lift, I checked all cv joints, all bushings, all mounts etc.
Any ideas?
thanks!

Check:
-right side engine mount
-rear prop-shaft support bearing.
-front prop-shaft to exhaust to chassis rail clearance
-TCA ball-joints -> those may seam to be all right with the suspention tightened up with ARB in place. But with ARB removed on my car they shown to be extremly lose with huge play - and this was most probably cause for such symptom.
Theese are most common causes of such symptoms I know of.

Sorry for the quality - it's phone-camera pic.
It's the middle thing - tha TCA. On mine it's adjustable, stock one won't have that silver part, just normal rubber bushing. The ball-joint that fails and make the car behave like that is on the other end.

Thanks for all the input guys.. Ill put it on the rack this weekend to see what I find. I did replace the two front half shafts this weekend but it didnt help. I didnt check the control arm though. The car is essentially new, has just 1500 miles on it, and was just completed in June by cosworth as a new car. Ill try to figure out how to post pics here, I do have a couple....

dang close it seems. They had a spare shell, apparently the last new/unused one. They built it to my specs and shipped it over to me. Just got it about 3 months ago and loving every second of it.
i called them (cosworth) last year asking if they knew of any for sale, they said no. A few weeks later he called back and said "well ,we can make you one if you want, its the last one" Couldnt resist that at all, plus it was built to my specs. Everything was new, including the drive train. Oh, only things not new was passenger seat and rear seat bottom.

Wonder where did they get new interior parts for it...
What kind of spec you build it? If I was buildingone I would get it fully polybushed, spot welded, + coilovered all around... and surely at least Grp.N LSDs and Quaife front.

I must say it's pretty anoying that one looks for parts for existing Escos around the world and nobody has some for LHD car and people at Cosworth just build a new one. I'm jealous but I wish you happy driving :-D Just don't lock it up in the garage, let iot go like it schould go :-D
By the way - where in USA are you located?

I hear you on that one. I see a lot of wanted ads and I was wondering the same thing..
I got it 360hp, big turbo, wilwood 4 pot all around, 373mm (I think?) brakes up front, coil overs all around with adjustble struts, poly bushes all around, Short shift kit, 18" compomotives.. only running about 20lbs boost so its pretty tame but still gets up and goes.
Im having two small issues with it right now..... On boost I get a little bit of a break up, and when I plug in the idle solenoid, idle goes up to about 2000 rpm... Hmmmm Other than that, its perfect!
still trying to figure out the picture upload thing... may just make my own web page with some pics..

But coming back to topic. I have no idea where they got all interior plastics. Strange really. Maybe I schould contact Cosworth instead of Fords?
It must be top car though. I bet you are having fun with it. I am not very gfood with Marelli cars electronics but I think the idle issue is something typica. Try asking Stu@Motorsport Developments he will know (he know probbalyanthing about Cossies anyway )

I guess thats my big question. Im not thinking anything is worn since everything is new, but it doesnt rule out a faulty part either. no it wasnt a Graham Goode car...
I did have grease coming out of one CV joint boot but that wound up being just because it was overstuffed, now its fine and no boots are torn.
Ill be under it again this weekend checking a little closer at the things pointed out in this post. Ill let you know how I do.

I mean I find it hard to believe Cosworth racing in northamptonshire, built you an escort cosworth using all brand new parts and a shell .... BUT I will reserve judgement till I have seen the invoice...

Sure, come on by, Im in CT. Ill show you a new escort with about 1500 miles on it now along with a bill of sale.
I got the whole package from them, who there specifically did the assembly I dont know. They sent me pictures along the way, including brand new block and motor being built, chassis being painted, interior being assembled etc. I know their shop in Canada and the US had a hand in it for getting parts, or doing work. It was eventually shipped to canada, registered there then driven over the border where it got on a flatbed and delivered to me.

So the engine was made in Cosworth, Northampton before being shipped to Koln to be assembled - back to Cosworth - over to Canada - over to the US - no wonder the fooker shakes!!
