sure? didnt think it used manifold pressure, rather Mass Air Flow by means of the metering head at the airfilter..?

There is MAP sensor of course on small turbo car. But I don't think there is a point to upgrade one as EEC - IV can't be reprogrammed for that sort of boost easily enough.

this is not a picture OF a T25 small turrbo cossie but IS a pic of the small turbo map sensor my mate put it on his uprated fiesta turbo!!!

as i said its on the inlet side on the chassis leg i think but as also been said its not worth upgrading using the small turbo management, not sure why just what few tuners told me....

so (its another school day for me ... ) what does the airflow meter actually do it the small turbo ecu is measuring manifold pressure - does it use a combination of both? i've had a look on microcat and it lists an ACT and ECT as seperate sensors (obviosly) but i cant see a map sensor....?

is the small turbo on the same as the large turbo one (2.5bar) but with a plastic cover over the top...?

Stu was explaining this nce to me on forums -> you can look in archives. Generally ECu uses MAP sensor signal to calculate boost strategies, control maximum boost and things like that. Uses MAF to calculate load. There are also different error modes and things like that. The car is driveble (won't idle though in most cases) without MAF because it has it's MAP.

Don't think so.

There are BOTH.

MAF is "Mass air flow sensor" or something like that. d'air suggests it's something like that but I don't know enough French to know. Ask user "Petrucci" he's French and speaks perfect English
