Default escos headlamp washers

the pump i have just found was disconnected on mine and the pump looked pretty grubby and furr coming out of it, so ive cleaned the car end of th connector and robbed one of the spare under back seat water injection pumps(finis 6088981) which are exactly the same it turns out...

question is,, when and how long should the pump actually spray, a can hear a relay clicking in with the headlights and wipers on if you go to squirt the windscreen, but the headlamp washer pump doesnt run, does anyone know which relay it is, im assuming its a timer relay which runs on for x amount of time once energised...?

you don't need to run the wipers just the headlights.

First of all check if you have a voltage on pump. (it can be just blocked)

I removed mine as I'm using the pump to spray on the intercooler but as I live in France it won't be easy...mayby you can find find someone near you and borrow its relay to try.
fusebox are known for there poor quality on welding but I never heard about a bad weld on headlamp wash...but who knows!

When you sort it out please tell me if you can set the squirts. I mean are they glued in or can they be adjusted? I tryied moving mine because they don't hit right spots on the lamps but can't move them.

found the relay, its as the info above, and it does click in for a split seccond but isnt latching, so i reckon its a new relay needed. i found the problem that was draining the battery aswell, the interior light delay re;ay was staying on. unpluged it and lpugged uit back in and that now is working correctly (why i dont know)BUT now the dashboard lights (elecroluminesence doesnt work think i might have blown the inverter when i tried a normal rely in the interior lights socket

It has "20 sec" sign on it. But just goes on and of when I close and open the door. Not like in my moms Focus where it is lit for some time after the door closed.

probably that relay that is to fault, if its fitted at all, it might just have a bridging link so that it works on/off just from the door pin switches alone.

could you do a me a favour and take a pic of the locations of your relays, according to the book, there are some that are not uses which ar e installed and some that are the otehrway round...

My fusebox is a little bitchy to take out. Do you remmember my car is LHD? Is that matter in terms of electrics? I'm little afraid of taking all of that apart but if it helps you just tell me which pics do you want.

Which handbook? I don't see any electrics on any of my Escos manuals.

they look like standard parts and not cosworth specific so probably will be. gonna still try a breaker yard first though, as i can live without them working as they have never worked while i have had the car, as long as i know WHY they aren't woprking, its a job for a rainy day, besides, with morrettes fitted, they dont squirt in the right place anyway

you can swivel the jet [its like a ball socket] but its easy to snap it if it hasnt been moved for a while, the problem is getting something to fit in the holes/awkward angle
