Depends on which bits you are painting. For body panels I use underseal with waxoyl, for suspension arms etc chassis black. The underseal has good chip resistance and rust protection, the chassis black not so good. Don't use underseal on parts you need to take on and off as it's a pain to clean off (and gets everywhere as it never dries fully).

hammerite flakes off and doesnt last long and if moisture gets behind it causes more damage that good last thing you want on any ford m8.

Hammerite do an underseal that contains waxoyl called 'underbody seal'.

I'm in the process of doing mine.It was pretty clean underneath when I got the car, I've just cleaned it some more and painting over the factory stonechip in body colour in base and laquer. Trouble is you don't know where to stop!! I just want it back on the road for summer.

Yes i'm spraying it, I am spraying a clear sealer on first as its so hard to clean and rub back every area under there and that really sticks well then when it goes tacky I am spraying the base and then laquer. You do get quite a bit of overspray so Im making sure the car is well covered as overspray seems to get everywhere! Also Im using an additive with the laquer so it stays flexable so hopefully it shouldn't chip.

I don't know how much waxoil was on there before as the previous owner had removed most of it. Once its all painted Im going to apply waxoil just to the box sections and areas I can't see.
