Just picked up my engine from Harvey Gibbs

Picked my engine up from Harvey Gibbs, spec is as follws :-

(Everything brand new, no second hand parts used)

New 200 block which has been treated to uprated crank and rods
New head, ported and polished, new valves etc etc etc
Harvey Gibbs secret cams
WRC head gasket
Long studs
Baffled sump
High pressure oil pump
Modified T38 turbo
New -31 actuator
Vernier pulleys
Grey injectors
3 bar map sensor
RS 500 intercooler
Lightened flywheel
New paddle clutch
Anti lag
Launch control
Samco hoses
Scorpion exhaust de cat
Uprated fuel pump
Air to air injectors (boost control)
Mapped and dynoed by Ahmed Bajoo.

Power (the important thing) :-

Boost pressure is at 26 psi at just 2900 rpm and is held all the way up to 7000 rpm which gives it a read out of 430.1 bhp, the maximum torque (360 ib ft) will arrive at about 3400 rpm, this has been kept a little lower due to me wanting a diff and gearbox in one piece, this is no pub talk, so this should go quite well, shouldnt it ? :D

Thanks matey, fingers crossed all goes ok, i have 1000 miles to do running in, i think a spirited drive to Cornwall and back on Sunday might do the job ;)

That looks like a nice spec

Richie Russ 20-05-2005 03:19 PM

Its all now done and being very carefully run in, but i can definately feel the potential in this, maximum i have taken it up to so far is 4k and it took off, but it will be treated properly, just past the 900 mile mark now, just ordered a new exhaust (Mongoose, turbo back) so should be fun. Compared to my 360 bhp Evo 6 the car feels very tame low down, get it above 3k and things start happenning, with the Evo, there was power on tap all the time, which i miss, but im sure it'll be a hoot :top:

Incidentally, i would just like to plug someones services.

My car was put back together by my neighbour with complete care and attention, he is the best mechanic that i have known and had he not been working himself, he would have built me my engine.

As we all know its hard to trust people with your car nowadays, people dont take too much care 90% of the time, this chap is superb.

Being the ex top mechanic at Brands Hatch rally school and also with him building his own Escort Cos from scratch, there is nobody better imho. (am i kissing arse here) !!??!!

So, if you have any Cosworth and need some bits doing whatever it is, even just a service, take my advice and give him a ring, everything is done at his house and his garage is like a workshop, clean and professional. I am based in Kent, his name is Carl and his number is (07970) 956036.

No, im not on commission :blabla:

;)

Good luck Rich, hope it goes well for you, will be good to see it out on the road when fully run in. :top:

Hi Dave,

Im based in Gravesend, and i dont think that he would come to you, if you took the car to him, he would sort it for you no problems, and would be worth it imho.

Harvey will sort you out matey, mine feels as strong as an ox and hasnt missed a beat.............yet ;)

Cheers
Rich
